    Dear Grace Thille families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! As the new principal of Grace Thille Elementary, I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a legacy of success and so many points of pride! This year marks my 27th year in education. I spent 18 years in the classroom in grades K, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. My goal is to continue the academic excellence that exists at our school by collaboratively working with all stakeholders to facilitate and ensure a safe and supportive environment.  High expectations will continue where students are prepared to meet the challenges of a social and academic environment and to be successful in a diverse society. In addition to the anticipation of returning to school, we are excited that our entire school was painted inside and out, our blacktop re-paved and painted, as well as a big improvement of our play area!

Even though I have left the classroom as a teacher, I still view myself as an educator for all students. As a dedicated, resourceful, and innovative educator, I strive to establish an atmosphere built on trust and rapport so that students will be engaged and motivated to reach their potential.

Our main goal is to work collaboratively with one another to ensure that all students feel safe and welcome.  It is my belief that all students, with the help of the right tools and strategies, have the ability to learn.  It is my desire to make a positive difference in the lives of all of our students and help them recognize the value of education as both enjoyable and worthwhile.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Wendy Maxwell

    Principal
