Ms. Melissa Guerra is Appointed as the New School Principal of Isbell Middle School
The Santa Paula Unified School District is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Melissa Guerra as the new school principal of Isbell Middle School.
Ms. Guerra began her career as a teacher at Santa Paula High School in 2006 and became an assistant principal there in 2017. She will begin her 17th year in the district in this new school principal role. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in History and Spanish at California Lutheran University, and possesses a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from California State University, Northridge. She is an alumna of SPHS's Class of 2000.
Ms. Guerra is excited for the opportunity to lead the middle school that she attended as a child, and continue to serve the community that helped raise her. She understands that middle school can be a trying time, and believes one of her and her team's primary focuses should be to help students and their families navigate the middle school years in preparation for high school in a rigorous and supportive learning environment with high expectations for academics and behavior. Her many years served at the 9th-12th grade level will aid in that endeavor.
Ms. Guerra looks forward to working together to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere that cultivates students' curiosity and imagination. She is thankful for this opportunity and looks forward to meeting her new students, parents and community partners.
